My name is Steve Pinchbeck and I have been using the online moniker of Predatron since late 2003. I live with my wife Diane in the glorious UK county of Cornwall. Surrounded on 3 sides by the sea Cornwall is an amazing place to live that feeds my creative inspirations. Whether it’s making 3D models, writing, painting or drawing I’m just very grateful that I can live somewhere that feeds my creativity.
I started dabbling with 3D art late in 2003 and I was within a few months making my own 3D content, eventual ending up selling such places as Renderosity and DAZ3D. I have now been exclusive at www.daz3d.com since 2010. My chosen software to develop for is DAZ Studio, but I’m currently looking into other areas such as unreal, Unity and iClone.
I build most 3D models in both 3DS Max and also Zbrush, although I’m now dabbling with Blender. I use uvlayout for well UV layouts. I texture using Substance Painter and Photoshop. I occasionally use Marvellous Designer for any clothing or fabric based models.
I would say that my chosen genre is fantasy and in particular the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, as well as Terry Brooks. It’s a world to be completely lost in and it certainly has me totally consumed with countless ideas with stories and artworks of elves, wizard and trolls. But having said all that I can get just excited building future worlds set on distant planets or grimy dystopian cities.
Other interests away from the computer comprise of playing guitar (in a fashion!), writing books and childrens stories, drawing, exploring Cornwall and cooking, especially Italian food.
Thanks for visiting my little slice of fantastical indulgences.
